Alexander Lukashenko, the self-proclaimed president of Belarus, believes that Crimea does not legally belong to Russia.

Quote: “Crimea is de facto Russian, but de jure it is not. Because legally, these issues are unilaterally settled.”
Details: He said that the problem is that the international community does not recognise the peninsula as Russian territory.
When asked by a journalist whether Lukashenko would go to Crimea, he said that he was not afraid to go there but that there was no need for such a trip at the moment.
Background: In 2021, Lukashenko claimed the opposite, saying that after the so-called referendum in 2014, Crimea became Russian de jure.
