Details: Röpcke wrote that he had warned about this a few weeks ago.
“Ukraine has run out of Patriot and Iris-T missiles. Most other air defence stockpiles have also been exhausted or destroyed,” he wrote.
Röpcke added that Western countries have in their warehouses hundreds of systems and thousands of missiles that Ukraine needs.
As I said weeks ago (and almost no one believed me): Ukraine ran out of Patriot and Iris-T missiles. Also, most other stocks of air defense means are depleted or destroyed.
This, while we have hundreds of systems and thousands of missiles in our depots. No words. Just anger. pic.twitter.com/KyzteWpq1j— Julian Röpcke🇺🇦 (@JulianRoepcke) April 11, 2024
Background:
- On the night of 10-11 April, Russia launched a large-scale combined attack on Ukraine’s critical infrastructure: air defence destroyed 57 of the 82 air targets launched by the Russians.
- Ukraine’s Air Force managed to shoot down 18 missiles out of the 42 launched. In particular, they failed to shoot down 6 Kh-47M2 Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles.
- As a result of the attack, the Russians completely destroyed the Trypillia Thermal Power Plant in Kyiv Oblast.
