Details: As noted by the US Department of State, Blinken will be in Brussels on 27-29 November.

The meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Council will be held at the ministerial level for the first time.

“Secretary Blinken will highlight NATO’s steadfast commitment to Ukraine in its fight against Russia’s aggression, emphasize our support for democracy and regional stability in the Western Balkans, and discuss priorities for the Washington Summit in July 2024,” the statement said.

Background: The July NATO summit in Vilnius, in particular, approved the establishment of the NATO-Ukraine Council.

The Council gathered for the first time at the NATO Summit in Vilnius with the participation of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and for the second time in July amid the deteriorating security situation in the Black Sea.

The third meeting was held in October to discuss an updated reform plan for Ukraine’s accession to NATO.
