Ramzan Kadyrov, Head of Chechen Republic, proposed the release of 20 Ukrainian prisoners of war if Western sanctions placed on his family members are lifted.

Quote: “My mother, wife, daughters and nephews are not to blame. They never participated in political games. They never said a word. I fought, I will fight…
Introduce everything you want against me, but don’t touch my family, my mother. If the lives of these people are important to them, then let them exchange their soldiers for [lifting of – ed.] sanctions.”
Details: Kadyrov allegedly handed over a list of names of prisoners of war to Scott Ritter, the former UN inspector for monitoring the elimination of Iraqi weapons of mass destruction.
Ritter previously promoted the Kremlin’s narrative saying that “the West controls Ukraine and uses it for its own purposes”.
At a meeting with Ritter, they also showed a video in which men dressed in the uniform of the Armed Forces of Ukraine – possibly Ukrainian prisoners of war – are asked to lift “the absurd sanctions that do not affect anything” off of Kadyrov’s young relatives, his horses, and the aeroplanes he uses.
