Doctors and patients of ADONIS clinic were killed in attack on Kyiv: what is known about them – photos

A private clinic of the ADONIS network was struck as a result of the Russian missile attack on Kyiv on 8 July. Seven people were killed by missile wreckage – two patients and five members of medical staff. Another employee is in hospital in critical conditions.
In a comment for Ukrainska Pravda.Zhyttia, Iryna Salo, employee of the marketing department of the ADONIS network, revealed that one of the patients was a 29-years-old woman.
Among the deceased employees of the clinic there are:
- senior cashier – the woman is survived by two children; her son and husband are in the combat zone;
- senior nurse who moved from the temporarily occupied city of Donetsk to Kyiv together with her son in 2014;
- matron whose two grandchildren were born a few days before;
- ultrasound doctor.
“He was the soul of the company, always optimistic, constantly made jokes and cheered the staff up,” Iryna described the ultrasound doctor.
The clinic staff also confirmed the death of obstetrician-gynaecologist Svitlana Poplavska. Earlier the information about it emerged online.
Svitlana is from the settlement of Mykulyntsi in Ternopil Oblast. In 2008 she graduated from the Kharkiv National Medical University and obtained the specialty of gynaecologist. She was also an ultrasound export and a consultant in sexology.
She worked in the ADONIS clinic for about five years, and in a woman’s consultation in the city of Brovary before that.
Recently Svitlana returned from maternity leave – her youngest daughter is not even two years old.

Svitlana’s patients describe her as a good specialist and highly professional.
“Svitlana has been my doctor since forever. She was kind, open-hearted, smart and sincere.
I rarely meet doctors who make you anticipate their appointments, because these are not just check-ups but also a session of therapy and pleasant communication…
Yesterday Svitlana was killed by Russia. She is survived by three children, a loving family, hundreds of patients who she helped, thousands of unfinished errands and plans…” Tetiana Pavliuk said in her post.
At the moment Svitlana’s family needs financial aid.
Background:
- On 8 July Russia launched a large-scale attack on the Ukrainian cities of Kyiv, Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih and others.
- Specifically, the Russians struck Okhmatdyt, the biggest children’s hospital in Ukraine. At the moment of the attack over 600 patients were in the hospital.
- Svitlana Lukianchuk, a 30-year-old doctor from the city of Lviv, was killed in the attack. In total two people were killed on the territory of the hospital, and over 50 were injured.
