Details: In Bryansk Oblast, residents of the village of Seltso reported explosions near the chemical plant named after the 50th Anniversary of the USSR. The plant, part of the Tekhmash holding, produces explosives under Russian state defence contracts.

According to Radio Liberty’s Russian service, a video of the explosions posted by local residents has been geolocated to Bryansk’s Fokinsky district. The camera was pointed towards the 120th Arsenal of the Main Missile and Artillery Directorate of the Russian Defence Ministry, which has been attacked by Ukraine before, on 10 November.

A video of the explosions in Bryansk was also posted by Andrii Kovalenko, head of the Central Intelligence Department at Ukraine’s National Security and Defence Council, with the caption: “It’s noisy in Bryansk.”

The governor of Bryansk Oblast claimed that Russian air defence forces had detected and destroyed an aircraft-type drone over the region. “There are no casualties or damage. Operational and emergency services are working at the site,” he added.

In addition, warnings of a potential missile attack were issued in Bryansk and Oryol oblasts. The Russian authorities in Belgorod Oblast initially claimed that air defence forces were “shooting down missiles”, but they later said it had been a drone attack.

An air-raid warning was also issued in Crimea and remained in effect for almost an hour. Russian media also claimed there had been an “attack on the Crimean Bridge”, resulting in the bridge being temporarily closed to traffic. Later there were reports of a drone attack.

Background: On the night of 10 November, Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) targeted ammunition depots at the 1060th Logistics Centre (formerly the 120th Arsenal of the Main Missile and Artillery Directorate) in Russia’s Bryansk Oblast.
