Forest fire has engulfed residential houses in the city of Ulan-Ude, the capital of the Republic of Buryatia in Russia. The authorities announced the evacuation of local residents.

Details: Alexei Tsidenov, Head of Buryatia, reported that there were five blazes in the city and neighbouring districts, as well as a squall. The authorities are conducting the evacuation of residents.

The city’s houses and outbuildings are on fire. The area of the blaze is 3000 sq.m.
Russian media reports that over the past day, eight new fires broke out in Buryatia, and the flames destroyed 142 hectares of the territory.
