Georgian volunteer killed on front line in Ukraine

Tengiz Chaniya, a Georgian soldier who took part in the Russian-Ukrainian war, has been killed while fighting for Ukraine.

Details: Chaniya was a member of the Third Assault Brigade and fought on the Avdiivka-Marinka front.
According to the channel, he was killed on Friday, 22 March, as a result of Russian missile fire. Due to intense hostilities, his body could not be retrieved from the battlefield.
Chaniya was an internally displaced person from Abkhazia who took part in both the Abkhazia war and the Russian-Georgian war of 2008.
He previously worked for the Georgian Ministry of Defence’s Intelligence Directorate and the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ 2nd Special Forces Department.
The soldier fought in Ukraine from the start of the Russian full-scale war and was wounded twice, but after recovering, he returned to the front lines in both cases.
According to the Georgian TV channel, 62 Georgian volunteers have fallen in battle since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale war in Ukraine.
On 15 March, it was reported that a German volunteer had been killed in combat in Ukraine’s east.
Earlier, in Vilnius, a farewell ceremony took place for the first Lithuanian volunteer who died defending Ukraine.
