Hong Kong Free Press

The “Colours of Humanity” Arts Prize, co-hosted by the Justice Centre Hong Kong and the European Union Office, has revealed its 30-strong shortlist for the award.

This year the prize attracted a record 102 entries from both Hong Kong and abroad. The 30 on the shortlist, which was announced on Thursday, will be on public display at the Goethe-Institut Hongkong from next month.

Revolving around the concept of “Our Changing World,” each shortlisted work explores the theme of diversity, equity and inclusion.

The list represents established and emerging artists, while featuring a range of subject matter including international displacement, climate change, labour migration, feminism, and gender and sexual diversity.

The prize recognises and rewards visionary submissions with three top awards. Winners will be announced at a ceremony on November 30.

All shortlisted and winning artworks will be on show from December 1 to January 14 at the Goethe-Gallery and Black Box Studio, Goethe-Institut Hongkong.
Members of the public can sign up for bilingual guided tours by the curator on a first-come-first-served basis, with details and registration available here.
