Details: Orbán did not express his condolences to those killed and injured in Russia’s missile strike in his tweet, nor did he mention that Russia was behind this strike.

The Hungarian PM only mentioned “tragic and heinous attack in Kyiv” which proves that “the brutality of the Russia-Ukraine war has reached a new level”, he posted.

“This is precisely why we embarked on a peace mission 9 days ago.

The growing intensity of the war is a call for global powers to abandon their war policy and instead create a peace policy to guide Russia and Ukraine into a ceasefire and peace talks,” Orbán added.

The rest of European leaders clearly condemned the Russian attack on Okhmatdyt and expressed their condolences to the victims.

Orbán’s rival Péter Magyar announced the collection of humanitarian aid for Ukrainian children and prepared to go to Kyiv with a batch of medical equipment.

Gergely Karácsony, mayor of Budapest, condemned Russian large-scale attacks on Ukrainian cities, mainly on the Okhmatdyt hospital in Kyiv, and criticised Orbán for his visit to Moscow.
