US President Joe Biden has said that Republicans will have “an awful lot of — to pay for” if they do not allocate financial assistance to Ukraine.

Background:

In December 2023, representatives of the US Republican Party blocked a bill to allocate billions of dollars in aid to Ukraine, including Israel, in an attempt to link it to the strengthening of its southern borders.
On 12 January, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he is more confident now that the United States will provide military and financial assistance to Ukraine. “I look at it with more positivity than in December. I think we will also push for a result,” Zelenskyy said.
