Details: While Latvia has previously sent drones purchased from public donations, today’s governmental decision marks the first large batch of drones.

Defence Minister Andris Spruds said that this is Latvia’s first major contribution to the coalition.

Local industry is involved in the procurement, which means that the drone coalition is actively gaining momentum to support Ukraine.

The minister added that the drones for Ukraine are of high quality and have been tested.

Latvia will allocate at least €10 million a year for the development of the drone coalition. The ambition of the coalition is to provide one million drones for Ukraine’s needs.
