Details: Anušauskas underscored that all the parts needed to produce the drones will be manufactured and assembled in Lithuania.
“It’s no secret that Lithuanian firms are developing new models of aerial munitions. Besides the fact that some prototypes are still being developed, this work is well underway and will be completed. It is likely that by the end of this year or early next year, we will launch these models and may start mass-producing fully Lithuanian-made drones,” Anušauskas said.
He stressed that these drones will be “fully Lithuanian-made”, including their processing systems and optics.
Background:
- In February, Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda criticised Lithuania’s military for failing to pay sufficient attention to drone capabilities, saying that drones play a decisive role in the overall defence strategy.
- Anušauskas responded by saying that the growth and development of the drone manufacturing industry in Lithuania was “under control”.
