Quote: “Yesterday it (the checkpoint – ed.) started operating but the protesters put a lorry in the middle of the road to block it. As of now, the lorry has been removed and the traffic is normal.”

He explained that the decision about lifting the blockade was made by local Polish authorities due to the protesters violating the rules concerning blocking the traffic of humanitarian and dangerous cargoes.

Derkach added that the Ministry of Development hopes for a positive decision about the Rava-Ruska-Hrebenne checkpoint since such violations also take place there.

Background: The blockade of the Yahodyn-Dorohusk checkpoint by Polish hauliers on the Polish-Ukrainian border ended at 14:00 on 11 December.

For 24 hours from 8:00 on 11 December to 8:00 on 12 December, the unblocked Yahodyn-Dorohusk checkpoint was crossed by 587 lorries.
