Lukashenko discusses possible attack on Suwałki corridor

Self-proclaimed Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko has discussed a possible attack on the Suwałki corridor, the territory of Lithuania and Poland located between Belarus and Russia’s Kaliningrad Oblast.
Source: European Pravda; a fragment of the conversation between Lukashenko and Alexander Naumenko, the commander of the North-Western Operational Command, published by Pul Pervogo, the Belarusian pro-government Telegram channel
Details: In the video, Lukashenko, who is holding a white spitz, asks the military about the width of the Suwałki corridor, which “they [probably meaning Lithuania – ed.] are always yapping about.”
“It’s in vain that they behave this way. But now you will have to confront the Baltic republics… And you will take part of Poland,” Lukashenko saya, having learned the width of the corridor (42 kilometres in a straight line).
Lukashenko then asks the military commander whether he can hold the territory with “his troops”. Naumenko assures him that “all actions are planned, issues of combat readiness are being worked out, and personnel are being trained.”
As is known, the “isthmus” between the main part of the Russian Federation and its exclave – the Suwałki corridor – is considered a very likely place of attack in the event of a potential Russian war against eastern NATO members.
Background: In October 2023, Pavel Muraveiko, First Deputy Secretary of the Belarusian Security Council, proposed to “break through a corridor” to Russia’s Kaliningrad Oblast, causing outrage in Lithuania.
