Details: Łukasiewicz noted that he has taken up the duties of “chargé d’affaires of the Republic of Poland in Kyiv”.
Quote: “It is a great honour for me to serve the Motherland again – diplomatically and in war. It will be a little easier for me now that I have seen what a good and dedicated diplomatic team I will be leading at the Polish Embassy in Ukraine.”

The appointment of the new head of the embassy in Ukraine was announced by the Polish Foreign Ministry last week.
Since the appointment of the ambassador requires the consent of Polish President Andrzej Duda, Łukasiewicz went as chargé d’affaires.
Meanwhile, Jarosław Guzy, who was appointed under the previous Polish government, is officially still the ambassador to Ukraine, although he has in fact been recalled to his homeland.
