Details: Polish hauliers are expecting to resume the border blockade at the Dorohusk checkpoint at 14:00 on Monday, 18 December.

At the time of writing, the queue to enter Ukraine from Poland reached 70 kilometres (it is stretching up to the town of Piaski, Świdnik County). Drivers were waiting on average 100 hours to cross the border.

Background:

  • The head of the Dorohusk municipality, Wojciech Sawa, has decided to disperse the hauliers’ protest at the border with Ukraine, which has been ongoing since 6 November. The protesters applied for a new permission to protest, but the municipality refused.
  • The hauliers appealed the decision. On Friday, 15 December, the Lublin District Court upheld their complaint and overturned the decision of the head of the Dorohusk municipality.
  • As of 15 December, around the same number of trucks were allowed to pass through the Yahodyn-Dorohusk checkpoint as before the checkpoint was blocked by Polish protesters.
