Putin increases number of soldiers in Russian Armed Forces by almost 170,000

On 1 December, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree to increase the number of soldiers in the Russian Armed Forces by almost 170,000.

Quote: “I shall establish the full-time strength of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in the amount of 2,209,130 units, including 1,320,000 servicemen.”
Details: Putin also instructed his Government to provide for the allocation of budget from the federal budget to the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation.
