Experts at the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) point out that Russians are increasing the number of personnel in so-called volunteer military units by recruiting women into the Russian armed forces.

Details: Russia’s so-called volunteer military units continue to increase the number of personnel by recruiting women into the ranks of the Armed Forces of Russia.
Analysts note that the former head of Roscosmos and the “senator” from the occupied territories of Zaporizhzhia Oblast, Dmitry Rogozin, said on 19 January that the Russian BARS-Sarmat (Russian Combat Army Reserve) unit is recruiting specialists and unskilled men and women from all over Russia to participate in the fighting in Ukraine.
The review adds that this report follows recent Russian propaganda activity highlighting the recruitment of Russian women into various combat units of the Russian armed forces.
