Quote: “The aggressor state has ramped up efforts to reinforce the Russian border in Belgorod, Kursk and Bryansk oblasts following the raids by the Freedom of Russia Legion, the Russian Volunteer Corps and the Sibir (Siberian) Battalion.
Personnel from the Kursk, Bryansk and Belgorod groups of forces of the Russian Federation are being trained to identify and neutralise sabotage and reconnaissance groups, to carry out assault operations in urban environments, and to protect and defend critical infrastructure facilities.
The occupiers are holding training for newcomers in reinforcing Russia’s border regions in the occupied city of Mariupol [in Ukraine’s south] and other occupied Ukrainian cities.”
Details: The defence intelligence also said that Russia is reinforcing, upgrading and masking fortifications in Belgorod, Kursk and Bryansk oblasts and is deploying more drones, radars and air defence systems to those areas.
For example, Russia is expected to transfer units of the 5th Anti-aircraft Missile Brigade, which is currently deployed in Russian-occupied Luhansk Oblast in Ukraine.
Russian sapper units are also constructing additional mine barriers in Russia’s border regions.
