Russia to hold presidential elections on 17 March

The Russian presidential election will be held on 17 March, as the Federation Council adopted the relevant resolution on 7 December.

Details: Ella Pamfilova, Head of Russia’s Central Election Commission (CEC), declared that the presidential elections “for the first time in the history of the new Russia will take place in such a toxic geopolitical atmosphere.”
At the same time, she stressed that the electoral system of Russia “has the margin of safety for the proper conduct of presidential elections.”
Pamfilova also added that on 8 December, the CEC will review the draft resolution on voting in the presidential elections within three days.
