Russian missile wreckage falls in Darnytskyi district of Kyiv

Serhii Popko, Head of Kyiv City Military Administration, has reported that Russian missile wreckage has fallen in Kyiv’s Darnytskyi district.

Quote from Popko: “Early reports indicate that wreckage fell in the Darnytskyi district of Kyiv as a result of the missile strike. According to information being confirmed, the wreckage fell on the roof of a house.”
Details: Popko stated that there have been no fires or destruction and no reports of casualties have been received.
“An air-raid warning is still in effect. Stay in shelters!” he emphasised.
Background:
- The Russians launched attack drones towards Ukraine on the evening of 30 December.
- Ukraine’s Air Force said that there was a threat of a Russian ballistic missile strike on Kyiv and several other parts of Ukraine from the northeast on the night of 30-31 December. Air defence was responding in Kyiv.
- On the morning of 31 December, the Russians once again launched missiles on Ukraine. Explosions were heard in the city of Kyiv and Kyiv Oblast at around 08:00. Authorities reported that air defence systems were responding.
