Quote: “The enemy persists in its attempts to drive our units out of their positions on Dnipro’s left bank. They [the Russians] launched two assaults over the past 24 hours.
For over three weeks, the enemy has been trying to take our footholds by groups of up to a squadron in size, with no armoured vehicle support. However, we are standing firm in our positions, and the enemy is retreating after suffering losses [to prepare for] their further [assault] attempts.”
Details: Russian occupying forces continue to conduct aerial reconnaissance, use artillery bombardment to exert pressure on Ukrainian troops and employ various types of attack drones.
However, the Defence Forces of Ukraine’s South noted that dense clouds, stormy winds and rain hinder reconnaissance, targeting and mobility capabilities of artillery units.
Nevertheless, the Russians persisted in terrorising the civilian population of the frontline areas of Kherson Oblast on 13 March: 37 FPV drones and 15 drops of 29 fragmentation munitions from various modified UAVs have been recorded. Fortunately, no civilians were injured.
A Russian artillery strike damaged an industrial company, about a dozen high-rise buildings, three private houses, a gas pipeline, a transportation depot and several vehicles.
Reports also indicate that Russia hasn’t sent any warships into the Black or Azov Seas for two days in a row. Missile launchers did not leave their usual bases.
In particular, Russian occupying forces suffered the following losses over the past 24 hours:
- 42 soldiers;
- 4 boats;
- 2 reconnaissance UAVs of the Supercam and Zala types;
- 1 motor vehicle and 1 ATV.
In addition, Ukrainian troops destroyed a Russian observation post.
