Details: Russian troops continued offensive operations on the Avdiivka front on 14 December and made confirmed progress.
Geolocation images released on 14 December show that Russian troops have advanced slightly south of the railway line northwest of Stepove (about 7 km northwest of Avdiivka).
Russian military bloggers claimed that Russian troops continued heavy assaults near Stepove and were advancing along the railway line in the area of Stepove.
A spokesperson for a Ukrainian brigade stationed on the Avdiivka front suggested that Russian troops were conducting particularly intense shelling in the area between Stepove and the railway line, and reported that Russian troops were trying to remove the bodies of those killed in battle from this area.
Russian bloggers have also claimed that the Russians are consolidating their positions on the southeastern edges of Avdiivka, particularly along Kolosova Street, although ISW has not seen visual evidence of Russian forces operating on or near Kolosova Street.
The Ukrainian General Staff reported that Ukrainian forces had repelled Russian attacks near Avdiivka east of Novobakhmutivka (13 km northwest of Avdiivka), south of Sievierne (5 km west of Avdiivka), and near Pervomaiske (10 km on the southwest of Avdiivka) and Nevelske (13 km southwest of Avdiivka).
