Russians attack on 8 fronts and Ukrainian defenders repel over 80 attacks in one day – General Staff

Russian occupying forces have stepped up their activities on all fronts in Ukraine’s east, and the fiercest battles have taken place on the Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and Marinka fronts. Ukraine’s Defence Forces repelled over 80 Russian attacks over the past day.

Quote: “A total of 87 combat clashes took place during the past 24 hours. The enemy launched 14 missile strikes and 80 airstrikes and conducted 68 attacks from multiple-launch rocket systems on the positions of our troops and populated areas.
[The Russians] conducted airstrikes on Ivanivka and Stepova-Novoselivka in Kharkiv Oblast; Spirne, Chasiv Yar and Toretsk in Donetsk Oblast; and Zmiivka, Beryslav and Kozatske in Kherson Oblast.
Over 100 settlements in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk and Kherson oblasts came under artillery fire.
Details: In the area of responsibility of the Khortytsia Operational Strategic Group on the Kupiansk front, Russian forces conducted unsuccessful assault operations near the settlements of Synkivka and Petropavlivka in Kharkiv Oblast, where Ukrainian soldiers repelled five attacks.
On the Lyman front, Ukraine’s Defence Forces repelled four Russian attacks near the settlement of Terny in Donetsk Oblast.
On the Bakhmut front, Russian forces conducted assault operations near the settlements of Bohdanivka, Klishchiivka, Andriivka and Pivnichne in Donetsk Oblast. Ukraine’s Defence Forces repelled 16 attacks there. Meanwhile, Ukraine’s Defence Forces are continuing their assault operations south of Bakhmut in Donetsk Oblast, inflicting losses in manpower and equipment on the Russians and consolidating their positions.
In the area of responsibility of the Tavriia Operational Strategic Group on the Avdiivka front, Russian forces continue their attempts to surround Avdiivka. Ukrainian soldiers are firmly holding the defence, inflicting significant losses on the Russians. Russian offensive operations to the south of Novokalynove, Stepove, Avdiivka, Tonenke and Pervomaiske in Donetsk Oblast were unsuccessful. The Ukrainian Defence Forces repelled 27 attacks there.
On the Marinka front, Ukrainian soldiers repelled 17 Russian attacks near the settlements of Krasnohorivka, Marinka and Novomykhailivka in Donetsk Oblast.
On the Shakhtarsk front, Russian forces conducted unsuccessful assault operations southwest of Staromaiorske and Vodiane in Donetsk Oblast.
On the Zaporizhzhia front, Russian forces conducted unsuccessful assault operations west of Verbove and Robotyne in Zaporizhzhia Oblast, where Ukrainian defenders repelled nine Russian attacks.
Meanwhile, Ukraine’s Defence Forces are continuing to conduct offensive operations on the Melitopol front, inflicting losses in military personnel and equipment on the Russian occupying forces and exhausting them along the entire frontline.
In the area of responsibility of the Odesa Operational Strategic Group on the Kherson front, Ukrainian defenders continue to hold their positions on the left bank of the Dnipro River, conducting counter-battery operations and striking the Russian rear.
In the area of responsibility of Operational Command Pivnich (North) on the Volyn and Polissia fronts, the operational situation remains unchanged.
On the Sivershchyna and Sivershchyna fronts, the Russians maintain a military presence in the border areas and conduct active sabotage activities to prevent the transfer of Ukrainian troops to threatening areas.
During the past day, Ukraine’s Air Force launched 13 strikes on the areas where Russian military personnel, weapons and equipment were concentrated, and three strikes on Russian anti-aircraft missile systems.
Units of Ukrainian Rocket Forces and Artillery hit a command post, five air defence systems, nine artillery systems, an ammunition storage point and a Russian electronic warfare station.
