Quote: “There was a power outage at the sixth power unit of the ZNPP, which resulted in the start-up of diesel generators and security systems that operated for 90 minutes.
At that time, the occupation management of the plant was investigating the causes of the blackout and deciding what to do about the consequences of their incompetent actions.”
Details: This information was confirmed by IAEA inspectors who are currently on the site of the temporarily occupied ZNPP.
Energoatom stressed that due to the complete unprofessionalism of the Russian occupiers, the main equipment at the ZNPP is constantly deteriorating, and the number of dangerous cases of its failures is increasing. The occupation of the largest nuclear facility in Europe threatens nuclear and radiation safety.
Quote: “The Zaporizhzhia NPP should be immediately returned under the full control of the legitimate operator, which is Energoatom, as this is the only way to guarantee compliance with nuclear and radiation safety of the facility.”
Details: Since the beginning of the occupation of the ZNPP by Russia, there have been seven complete blackouts.
Background: The IAEA has demanded that the Russians who control the occupied ZNPP allow the Agency’s observers to attend emergency exercises to be held at the plant.
