Russians strike Kupiansk in Kharkiv Oblast, killing and injuring women

Russian forces have launched an attack on the city of Kupiansk in Kharkiv Oblast, striking an area next to a residential building. As a result, one woman has been killed and another injured.

Quote from the police: “On 2 August, at about 11:40, the Russians launched an attack on the city of Kupiansk. An area adjacent to a residential building was struck. Early reports say Russian troops used cluster munitions for the attack.
As a result, two local women were injured, one of whom, aged 66, died. The second woman, who was wounded, was hospitalised.”
Details: An investigative-operative group of the Kupiansk District Police Department headed out to the site of the attack, as well as forensic experts and bomb disposal experts.
A criminal proceeding into the violation of the laws and customs of war has been initiated under Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Background: Russian troops deployed a drone to hit a bus with people in Kharkiv Oblast early on 2 August, injuring seven civilians, one of whom is in a serious condition.
