Ukrainian forces have stabilised the situation in Toretsk in Donetsk Oblast, but Russia is continuing to amass troops in the eastern parts of the war-torn city.
Source: Anastasiia Bobovnikova, spokesperson for the Luhansk Operational and Tactical Group, on the national joint 24/7 newscast
Quote: “The situation in Toretsk has relatively stabilised. We are now holding the contact line unchanged. The enemy is still entrenched in the eastern districts of the city. However, we are holding back their further advance and will defend the city as long as possible. And we are doing a good job of it right now.”
Details: The spokeswoman also noted a slight decrease in the number of assaults on this front, suggesting that the Russians may have taken a tactical pause to replenish their manpower.
She added that Russian forces will likely use this time to amass ammunition and weapons and redeploy equipment.
