Details: OpenStreetMap shows the 40th Separate Command and Measurement Complex (Deep Space Communications Centre), which is a part of the Aerospace Forces of Russia. This is an important military unit in the Russian space communications system and satellite navigation.
Anatolii Khrapchynskyi, a military expert, stated that the Liana satellite surveillance and information collection systems, including the Lotos and Pion-NKS satellites, is located on the territory of this centre. Pion-NKS uses active radiolocation for sea reconnaissance and information collection.
Khrapchynskyi added that the Russian forces may also be using this centre to control the groups of satellites which “are designed to jam connection signals of enemy satellites”.
