Storage facilities in Dzhankoi, Crimea caught fire after missile attack

Several storage facilities caught fire in Dzhankoi in Russian-occupied Crimea. The Russian occupation administration has claimed that the fire was caused by the “debris of an intercepted missile”.

Quote from Aksyonov: “Air defence forces intercepted a missile over Dzhankoi. Its debris damaged several storage facilities.

There are no casualties or fatalities.”

Details: Russian occupation officials called on local residents to “stay calm” and only trust Russian information sources.

Photos showing smoke rising over the presumed site of the strike have been shared on social media.

Background: 

  • Ukrainian drones attacked the Russian city of Sochi in Krasnodar Krai on 1 October, striking an area where Russian helicopters were based. Sources told Ukrainska Pravda that Ukraine’s Defence Intelligence was responsible for the attack.
