Substation on fire in Moscow

The Chagino transforming power substation was on fire in Lyublino District of Moscow on the night of 23-24 November.

Details: The news agencies reported that the network was disconnected in the transformer, where the fire occurred, in order to extinguish the fire at the power substation.
The fire occupied an area of several metres. A large pillar of smoke could be seen from afar. A video from the scene was also published on the Web.

In the morning, the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations confirmed the fire.
Quote: “Firefighters extinguished a fire in Moscow. A transformer was on fire in the South-Eastern Administrative District. [A total of] 70 specialists and 20 pieces of equipment quickly extinguished the fire.”

The Russian agency assured that the fire did not affect the functioning of Moscow’s energy supply systems.
