Swiss club signs contract with Russian player

Swiss Football Club Sion has signed a contract with Russian attacking midfielder Anton Miranchuk from FC Lokomotiv Moscow.

Details: The 28-year-old footballer’s contract was signed until 30 June 2026. He joined the club as a free agent.

Miranchuk has spent almost his entire career at Lokomotiv, where he played since the 2013/14 season. He played 217 matches, scored 51 goals and provided 34 assists. He also played 28 matches for the Russian national team.
It is interesting to note that a few weeks ago, 19-year-old Ukrainian footballer Andrii Firman joined Sion on loan. Earlier, there was information that Sion would have the right to buy the player.
Background: Paris Saint-Germain Football Club also signed a contract with a Russian footballer this summer.
