Taiwan shares end down as initial gains eroded before election
Taipei, Jan. 9 (CNA) Shares in Taiwan closed slightly lower Tuesday as the main board gave up its earlier gains ahead of the presidential election scheduled for Saturday, which has created uncertainty in the market, dealers said.
