Taiwan shares soar 1.60% as TSMC steams ahead
Taipei, May 17 (CNA) Shares in Taiwan moved sharply higher by 1.60 percent Wednesday as contract chipmaker Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC) extended its gains from a session earlier and lifted other IC stocks throughout the trading session, dealers said.
