Quote: “Donetsk Oblast. [I am here] Together with our soldiers, together with Commander-in-Chief [Oleksandr] Syrskyi and General [Andrii] Hnatov, the new Commander of the Joint Forces. Today, I have officially introduced Andrii Hnatov to all those responsible for defence in Donetsk Oblast. We heard reports directly from the front.
I was glad to see and thank our absolutely heroic and high-performing 110th Brigade and 47th Brigade in person. I also expressed my gratitude to our combat medics.
I held a meeting here in Donetsk Oblast to discuss security and support for people – it was a detailed meeting. There were many issues. They included life support – water, social issues, evacuation, assistance to the defence and housing rebuilding.
There will be a separate conversation in Kyiv, particularly with government officials who are supposed to be here and in other places near the front – in hard-hit hromadas where people need immediate solutions [a hromada is an administrative unit designating a village, several villages, or a town, and their adjacent territories – ed.]. Solutions that are simply not visible from Kyiv. And I was surprised that some relevant government officials had not been here for six months or more. I will draw appropriate conclusions about them.”
Details: The president added that Hnatov is a young man with knowledge of the front and expertise:
Zelenskyy recorded the video in front of a stele in the city of Pokrovsk (Donetsk Oblast).
