In early May, the United Kingdom announced the expulsion of the Russian military attache, an undeclared military intelligence officer, as well as the denial of diplomatic status to several Russian sites in the UK that are suspected of being used for espionage reasons.
Furthermore, London imposed further limitations on the issuing of Russian diplomatic visas, including limiting the length of stay of Russian diplomats in the UK.
In response, on 16 May, Russia announced the expulsion of the UK embassy’s military attaché and threatened that more actions would follow.
