Ukraine signs air defence agreement with Germany, four more countries to join

Ukraine has signed an agreement with Germany on immediate actions to strengthen Ukraine’s air defence system. Belgium, Norway, the Netherlands and Denmark will also join the project.

Quote: “At the meeting of G7 defence ministers, we signed an important agreement with Germany on immediate actions to strengthen Ukraine’s air defence system. The agreement provides for arrangements under which the signatory countries will contribute to joint projects or finance their own projects aimed at strengthening the air defence capabilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

In addition to Ukraine, five other signatory countries will join the project: Germany, Belgium, Norway, the Netherlands and Denmark.”

Details: Umierov thanked Germany for the initiative and the participating countries for their strong contribution to Ukraine’s security.

Background: On 19 October, the Group of Seven (G7) defence ministers said in a joint statement following their meeting in Naples that they support Ukraine’s irreversible path to full Euro-Atlantic integration, including NATO membership.
