Details: Syrskyi informed Cavoli about the situation and the course of combat action on different fronts.

He also thanked him for the military aid and listed Ukraine’s priority needs, specifically in terms of ammunition, military equipment and other armament.

Background:

  • On 26 August Russia launched 236 aerial weapons on Ukraine. Ukraine’s air defence downed 102 missiles and 99 attack drones.
  • Ruben Brekelmans, Minister of Defence of the Netherlands, commenting on the large-scale Russian attack on Ukrainian cities, noted that it only strengthens his motivation to keep supporting Ukraine.
  • Katarina Maternova, the EU ambassador to Ukraine, urged the international community to provide more air defence means for Ukraine following the Russian attack on 26 August.
