Ukraine’s Defence Intelligence’s kamikaze drones hit Tambov Gunpowder Plant in Russia – Ukrainska Pravda sources, video

One of the kamikaze drones hit the Tambov Gunpowder Plant in the city of Kotovsk (Tambov Oblast, Russia) as a result of a special operation by Defence Intelligence of Ukraine on the morning of 4 July.

Details: The aftermath of the strike, the extent of damage and information on Russian losses are currently being clarified.
The Russian authorities deny that the gunpowder plant was hit. Maksim Yegorov, the head of Tambov Oblast, said that “both UAVs were shot down. There are no casualties or damage. The situation is under control”.
Nevertheless, local residents have been sharing videos online that clearly show the strike of one of the kamikaze drones, followed by a detonation and fire on the site.

Background:
- Defence Intelligence of Ukraine had already attacked the Tambov Gunpowder Plant on the night of 18-19 January 2024.
- Back then, one of the kamikaze drones exploded on a site near the powder mixing workshop. Drones also attacked the plant in November 2023.
- As UP’s source said, the Tambov Gunpowder Plant is one of the largest enterprises in Russia that produces ammunition and powder for small arms. Since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the plant has increased production by a third. The facility has been sanctioned since March 2023.
