Quote: “We recognise the relevance of the weight of equipment in combat missions, particularly for special forces and assault troops. Every centimetre and gramme of the lightweight body armour was accounted for during the design process. We anticipate excellent results from the final tests because this armour is extremely needed in combat units.”
Details: According to reports, the model has already been tested at the Air Assault Forces Intelligence School of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and received favourable feedback. Laboratory tests, the final stage of production, are currently underway.
The new body armour is constructed of reinforced ceramic composite materials and offers 6th-class protection. The size grid extends from S to XL in two variants, weighing between 7.5 kilograms and 12 kilograms, against 10.5 kilograms to 17.5 kilograms in modular variants.
The body armour includes a quick drop feature and may be customised with extra features such as neck and shoulder protection, shoulder pads, groin protection, tactical unloading belt, tailbone and hip protection, and buoyancy elements. Ukraine’s Defence Ministry specifies that women will receive unique anatomical overlays.
The device also has separate pockets for soft and hard ballistic protection, as well as removable dampening tabs. According to the government, this body armour will be delivered to Ukraine’s Armed Forces once the laboratory tests are done.
