Andrii Sybiha, Ukraine’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, has emphasised that Russia’s likely use of North Korean military in its war against Ukraine necessitates a strong reaction from the West.

Details: Sybiha highlighted that Russia can begin using DPRK’s regular military in combat rather than recruiting volunteers.
“The Euro-Atlantic community must wake up to the fact that DPRK invades Europe alongside Russia and act without delay. Russia seriously escalates its aggression by involving DPRK on a war party scale. We require an immediate and strong reaction from the Euro-Atlantic community and the world,” stated Andrii Sybiha.
He went on to say that the greatest approach would be to fully back Ukraine’s Victory Plan.
“Russia scales up its war. In response, allies must scale up military support for Ukraine. Lift restrictions on long-range strikes. Start intercepting Russian missiles and drones over Ukraine. Extend invitation to NATO. Boost investment in Ukraine’s arms manufacturing. Take action!” Sybiha called.
Kyrylo Budanov, Head of Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, confirmed that approximately 11,000 North Korean infantry troops are currently being trained in Russia’s east. They are expected to be ready for combat against Ukraine by 1 November.
The United States has previously stated that it is concerned about reports of the possible participation of the North Korean military in a Russian full-scale invasion of Ukraine on the side of Russia.
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said earlier that he could not confirm the participation of North Korean troops in the fighting in Ukraine.
The Estonian Defence Forces Intelligence Centre believes that the participation of North Korean soldiers in Russia’s war against Ukraine would not change the situation at the front.
