Details: Sybiha revealed that he had discussed the Ukrainian peace formula and Slovakia’s  potential contribution to its implementation with the top Slovak officials.

“I also proposed to the Slovak side that they join the G7’s Vilnius declaration on security guarantees for Ukraine and sign a bilateral security agreement,” Sybiha added, noting that Kyiv has signed 26 such agreements.

Sybiha also urged Slovakia to support Ukraine’s EU and NATO membership, noting that “Ukraine in the EU is in the joint interest of Kyiv and Bratislava”.

“I’m also convinced that Ukraine’s NATO membership is in the interest of both our countries and the whole of Europe, as it will lead to a lasting peace and strong security. We are counting on Bratislava’s support,” Sybiha added.

Slovak Foreign Minister Juraj Blanár stated at the same press conference that in his view, Ukraine’s NATO membership would “create more conflicts”.

Background: Andrii Sybiha was visiting Slovakia as part of his first foreign tour since his appointment as Ukraine’s Foreign Minister.
