Ukraine’s General Staff confirms strikes on aircraft plant and oil refinery in Russia

Ukrainian defence forces hit a number of important targets in Russia on the night of 20-21 January, including an oil depot in Russia’s Voronezh Oblast and an aircraft factory near Smolensk.

Quote: “For the second time in a week, drones of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine struck the Liski oil depot in the Voronezh Oblast of the Russian Federation. This time it happened on the night of 20-21 January.
As a result of the strike, which was carried out in cooperation with other components of the Ukrainian defence forces, tanks holding fuel and lubricants used by the occupiers to supply Russian troops are on fire.”
Details: The General Staff reiterated that this company belongs to Rosneft, one of Russia’s largest state-controlled corporations.
Also on the night of 20-21 January, the Unmanned Systems Forces and the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine struck infrastructure facilities at the Smolensk Aviation Plant in Russia’s Smolensk Oblast, where combat aircraft are modernised and manufactured.
“Explosions were recorded at the aircraft plant,” the General Staff noted.
In addition, the defence forces hit the command post of the 29th Combined Arms Army of the Russian Federation in the temporarily occupied town of Volnovakha, Donetsk Oblast. The General Staff said that explosions were heard and smoke was seen in the area. The outcome of the strikes is being confirmed.
Background: Earlier, with reference to the media and the Center for Countering Disinformation, it was reported that on the night of 20-21 January, drones attacked the Smolensk Aviation Plant, which manufactures Su-25 attack aircraft, as well as an oil refinery in the town of Liski, Voronezh Oblast.
