Quote: “The Security Service of Ukraine neutralises any attempts by the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) and Defence Intelligence to use their agent potential in war conditions and does everything possible to ensure that enemy networks are entirely eradicated.
We emphasise that some of the accents voiced today in the media regarding the activation of the network of spies within the Ukrainian special service do not correspond to reality and are a manifestation of the incorrect interpretation of words of the head of the National Security and Defenсe Council”.
Details: The SSU reiterated that they record such manifestations and systematically neutralise the activities of those who intend to harm state security.
In particular, according to the SSU, from 2022 to 2023, more than 2,000 traitors were exposed, and more than 300 agents of foreign special services were identified.
Background:
- On 27 November, the media quoted Oleksii Danilov, the Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council, in an interview with The Times, who said Russia has activated a network of spies in Ukraine.
- Radio Liberty wrote that the Russian Federation activated spies in the SSU. Danilov explained to Ukrainska Pravda that The Times misinterpreted his words, and that the SSU was “actively working on identifying spies.”
