Quote from Popko: “After a long pause of 79 days, the enemy has resumed strikes with cruise missiles from Tu-95MS strategic aircraft. Previously, about 10 missile-carrying bombers fired X-101/555/55 missiles from the city of Engels, Saratov Oblast.
The air raid lasted for almost two hours in Kyiv. But not a single enemy target reached the city. Air defence assets and personnel destroyed all missiles flying towards Kyiv on the approach to the capital.”
Details: Popko said that there was no information on any victims or destruction.
He reiterated that the Air Force will post official information on the number and types of downed air targets after summarising the data.
The Head of the Kyiv Oblast Military Administration said there were no strikes to critical or residential infrastructure targets on the oblast territory. Preliminary reports indicate that there were no casualties.
As of 08:45, there were reports of damage to houses in several hromadas of the oblast as a result of falling wreckage from downed Russian targets [a hromada is an administrative unit designating a town, village or several villages and their adjacent territories – ed.].
Windows have been shattered in houses, and walls partially destroyed. Emergency services are already working at the scenes of the strikes. More details on the damage will come later.
