Oleksandr Usyk (23-0, 14 KOs), the WBC, WBO, WBA and IBO world heavyweight champion, is not averse to fighting IBF belt holder Daniel Dubois from the UK (22-2, 21 KOs) in 2025.

Quote from Usyk: “Now, it’s good. I sleep [well], wake up at 10:00-11:00, sometimes at 07:00 when I go to church, maybe go to school. Everything’s okay, I’m relaxed. [As for the fight with Dubois], no problem, I’m ready, but now I’m resting.”

Background:

  • Following Oleksandr Usyk’s victory over Tyson Fury, Daniel Dubois entered the ring and challenged Usyk to a rematch, which the Ukrainian champion accepted. Turki Al-Sheikh, Chairman of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority, indicated his willingness to host the fight, but only if Dubois defeats Joseph Parker (35-3, 23 KOs).
  • The fight between Daniel Dubois and Joseph Parker will take place on 22 February this year in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
  • In 2023, Usyk defeated Dubois by knockout in the ninth round. Should the two boxers face off again, the title of absolute world heavyweight champion will be on the line.
