Quote: “There’s a problem with ammunition, especially post-Soviet (shells) – that’s 122 mm, 152 mm. And today these problems exist across the entire front line. The volumes that we have today are not sufficient for us today, given our needs. So, we’re redistributing it. We’re replanning tasks that we had set for ourselves and making them smaller because we need to provide for them.”
Details: The commander specified that the Ukrainian troops on the southeastern front have gone on the defensive in some areas while attempting to advance in others.
The military official added that Russian forces are also facing ammunition shortages, although he did not elaborate.
Background:
- Before that, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán blocked a joint EU decision on a budget package, which included a 4-year assistance worth €50 billion. However, EU leaders hope for a collective decision on the €50 billion package in early 2024.
- Furthermore, Politico has learned that the US Senate and Congress as a whole are unlikely to pass new border security restrictions by the end of the year, on which billions of dollars in aid to Ukraine depend.
