Details: Ukraine’s General Staff reported that the Ukrainian strikes are aimed at disrupting the tactical activity of Russian troops and complicating their command on the battlefield.
On 8 January, the Ukrainian defence forces struck the command post of the 8th Army Corps of the Southern Military District in occupied Khartsyzsk. On 10 January, the command post of the 3rd Army Corps of the Central Military District in occupied Svitlodarsk was attacked.
Quote: “Ukrainian strikes against main command posts further in the Russian rear, such as the 8 January strike on the Russian 8th CAA post, are likely aimed at degrading broader Russian logistics and operational planning efforts, which could have impacts on Russia’s ability to conduct its military operations in western Donetsk Oblast.”
Details: As observed by ISW, the 2nd CCA is currently leading Russian operations south of Pokrovsk, the 3rd Army Corps is operating near Chasiv Yar, and the 8th Army Corps is leading Russian efforts near Kurakhove.
