Ukrainian tennis player Marta Kostyuk defeats France’s Clara Burel in second round of Olympics

Ukraine’s No. 1 tennis player Marta Kostyuk has defeated her French opponent Clara Burel in the second round of the 2024 Olympics.
The match lasted for 2 hours 3 minutes and ended with a score of 7-6(3), 6-2. Kostyuk committed seven double faults (Burel committed one) and played 7 out of 10 break points (Burel played 6 out of 11).
Kostyuk began the first set confidently, dominating the court, but Burel seized the initiative and evened the score. The set went to a tie-break, which was won by Kostyuk.
The second set was completely dominated by Kostyuk, although Burel managed to lead 5-2 when Kostyuk was unable to realise three match points. But that wasn’t enough to beat Kostyuk, who defeated her opponent with a score of 6-2.
