Details: The sanctions list now also includes the company’s CEO, Vladislav Isaev, who has been in office since April 2024.
In October 2022, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed a decree establishing the Federal State Unitary Enterprise Zaporizhzhia NPP at the Ukrainian nuclear power plant seized by Russian forces.
The Russian company was established following an order by Kremlin ruler Vladimir Putin, which declared the facilities of the Zaporizhzhia NPP as the property of the Russian federal government.
Background: Russian troops occupied the Zaporizhzhia NPP on 4 March 2022, and since then, they have consistently attacked the facility, posing a significant risk of a nuclear disaster.
